Maja Nordtug

Maja Nordtug has a PhD in media studies from the University of Southern Denmark. She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Centre for Digitalisation of Public Services and Citizenship at Oslo Metropolitan University. Nordtug is an editor of MedieKultur: Journal of media and communication research and recently co-edited a special issue on “Platformed Bodies”.

Digital media in relation to health issues

Nordtug primarily researches digital media in relation to health issues, a topic she has written various articles about, including articles on digital media engagement in relation to vaccines, e-mail consultations, and video consultations. In her current postdoctoral position, she is researching the use of the telepresence robot AV1 to remedy feelings of isolation and loneliness amongst children who are homebound due to health issues such as cancer and chronic fatigue syndrome.
