Kick-off Course for the Second DIGIT Cohort!

The kick-off course on Digitalization, Culture, and Society (November 28 - December 1, 2023) marked the beginning of this year’s DIGIT cohort, and DIGIT's successful first year as a research school!

The event brought together 30 new DIGIT members and 15 contributors from our academic and non-academic partners.

The week's structure included lectures, roundtable discussions, a visit to the national museum, workshops, and much more. Additionally, the DIGIT members had the opportunity to present their projects to each other in groups. The participants were introduced to various topics, ranging from explorations of Science and Technology Studies (STS) and digital fieldwork to the use of ChatGTP in higher education. Key presentations, such as the talk on Digitalization – societal change, user perspective and critical thinking, provided a solid foundation.

The contributions from South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, LO and The Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS) enriched the understanding of digitalization in the public sector, while the scenario workshop on the last day offered participants the chance to collaborate in groups, discussing potential scenarios for an uncertain future. A big thank you to all contributors, partners, and participants!
