About the call

Courses. The DIGIT academic training is organized in four main thematic clusters described in detail in the about section on our website. The proposed academic courses should aim to touch on one or several of these thematic areas.

If you are already hosting a course that fits with this thematic scope, you can apply for financial support to amend and further develop the course.

Workshops. DIGIT can also support workshops. These may be shorter than a course and could include participants working more actively on their own data. Workshops of more generic quality can also be of interest (for example presentation technique workshops, career events etc.).

General. When proposing a course or workshop, keep in mind that the national research school scheme aims to

-        increase the doctoral degree programmes’ relevance to the labour market

-        develop and apply new methods and theoretical approaches

-        foster quality development in the scientific training through national and international collaboration

Criteria

As we wish to facilitate more collaboration between academia and other social actors through the researcher training, a criterium for receiving support from DIGIT is to involve at least one actor from business, public sector, trade unions or civil society organizations in the course program. Ideally, this will be one of DIGIT`s formal partners.

The courses and workshops can be open to researchers outside DIGIT, but there must be reserved spots for DIGIT participants. We cannot cover travel or accommodation costs for non-DIGIT participants.

Study points

If the course is not incorporated in your institutions official study program, DIGIT can issue a DIGIT diploma for the participants. The students must be tested in in terms of a written or oral exam. The evaluation should be in the form passed/not passed. The diploma will state the total workload, and proposed the number of ECTSs (study points). The participants can use the diploma to apply for study points from their home university.
