In my PhD project, I pose the question of how audience-facing AI-mediated cultural experiences create (or fail to create) value for cultural institutions and their audiences.

My project draws on theories of cultural value and value co-creation (and co-destruction). It additionally addresses the methodological challenges of studying interaction between human audience members and AI systems, and explores how assemblage thinking can serve as a fruitful analytical approach.

Empirically, my project combines qualitative interviews, ethnographic field research, and surveys.

My PhD is part of the Research Council of Norway-funded research project creAIte – Transformative Technologies, Creativity, and Value Creation in the Cultural Sector.
