How does digitalization change the way we understand ourselves, others, and our shared pasts and futures?
How does digitalization change the way we understand ourselves, others, and our shared pasts and futures?
This and much more was what we explored in from Dec 1-4 in our new PhD-level course at the University of Agder, Digitalization and Cultural Identities: Analog Pasts, Digital Futures, and Technosocial Challenges.
The course followed a flipped-classroom structure, which gave us plenty of time for interaction and discussion. We focused on theory and explored cultural identities through three very different contexts: Sámi identities in the Nordic region, the inclusion of resettled refugees in New Zealand, and digital public services in Norway.
Thank you to Line Reichelt Føreland showing us Sámi Minecraft - a teaching resource designed to give pupils Sámi perspectives through playing video games. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/ds-4m23E
And thank you to the course leaders Antonio Díaz Andrade and Apostolos Spanos for designing a well-structured course and facilitating thoughtful discussions and lectures throughout the week!
