PhD fellow at University of Bergen
Shivam Pandey is a Doctoral Researcher at SEFAS, working under Work Package 5 of the CC.AGE project, where he contributes to the development of the ALIVE platform and working on building a nested fuzzy based framework in making an automated explainable AI model. He holds a master's in computer science from South Asian University, where his research focused on data mining and intelligent industrial applications. His bachelors' degree which is BSc. honors was in same major with focus upon Human computer interaction and mathematical modelling.
Prior to joining SEFAS, Shivam worked as an AI Research Engineer at the VAIR Lab, and also served as a Big Data Engineer at Amazon.
His industrial journey has started with programmer analyst position at Cognizant on which he worked for an year before enrolling in his masters.
His expertise spans artificial intelligence, data mining, fuzzy system and data-driven healthcare innovation.

My thesis focuses on the development of a fuzzy logic–based artificial intelligence decision-making system designed to support in-home care for older adults. In this work, I develop a system that analyzes data collected from wearable sensors, integrates individual user profiles, and incorporates user-defined health goals to generate personalized digital interventions.
These interventions are delivered in the form of multimedia messages aimed at empowering older adults to better understand and manage their lifestyle. Through tailored recommendations, the system seeks to promote active and healthy living by addressing social, physical, nutritional, and psychological needs.
This research is conducted as part of Work Package 5 of the CC.AGE project under the SEFAS team. The broader objective of the project is to develop an assistive digital platform that supports older adults in maintaining a healthy lifestyle at home. By enabling proactive health monitoring and personalized guidance, the platform aims to delay hospitalization, reduce the likelihood of institutionalization, and ultimately help alleviate the burden on nursing homes.
