Meet the Digit Board


The DIGIT board comprises seven representatives from academic and stakeholder partner institutions, as well as two members who represent the DIGIT participants.

  • Heidrun Åm, NTNU

    CHAIRPERSON

    Heidrun Åm is an associate professor at the Department for Sociology and Political Science at the Norwegian University for Science and Technology (NTNU). Her research focuses on technology and social change, in particular on the governance of emerging technologies.

  • Arvid Ellingsen, LO

    STAKEHOLDER REPRESENTATIVE

    Arvid Ellingsen serves as a Special Advisor in the Department of Social and Economic Affairs at the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO). His academic background is in business economics and political science. In his current role at LO, Ellingsen is responsible for shaping policies in the areas of higher education and research.

  • Jon Qvortrup, KS

    STAKEHOLDER REPRESENTATIVE

    Jon Qvortrup is a special advisor at the Health and Welfare Department (SVD) at The Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS). He holds a PhD in political theory from the University of Essex, England.

  • Kjetil Rommetveit, UiB

    ACADEMIC REPRESENTATIVE

    Kjetil Rommetveit is professor at the Centre for the Study of the sciences and humanities (Senter for vitenskapsteori) at the University of Bergen. He researches the governance of digital technologies and innovation, with a particular emphasis on legal, ethical and political issues. Rommetveit leads the cross-faculty master's programme in sustainability at UiB, and is principal investigator for the project Acting on AI: Digital Constitutionalism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence at the Centre for Advanced Studies (Oslo).

  • Etty Ragnhild Nilsen, USN

    ACADEMIC REPRESENTATIVE

    Etty R. Nilsen is a professor of Health and Technology at the University of South-Eastern Norway, where she also serves as research director at the USN Centre Health and Technology. Her research focuses on management and technology implementation in healthcare. She teaches healthcare management, knowledge management, organizational learning, and change management.

  • Anja Gjærum, INN

    PARTICIPANT REPRESENTATIVE.

    Anja Gjærum is a public sector PhD candidate at Inland University of Applied Sciences on the topic of digital transformation in rural and remote municipality organizations in Norway. She also holds a position as head of analysis and evaluation in the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development.

  • Espen Sjøvoll, UiO

    PARTICIPANT REPRESENTATIVE

    Espen Sjøvoll is a public sector PhD candidate at University of Oslo on the topic of adaptive funding mechanisms for digital transformation in the Norwegian public sector. He also holds a position as senior adviser at the Norwegian Digitalisation agency. He has a background from several management positions in both public and private organisations before starting his PhD.
