Course on Advanced Methods in Social Science Research on Digitalization – back at UiA
For the second time, DIGIT Research School offered the course Advanced Methods in Social Science Research on Digitalization in collaboration with CeDiT at the University of Agder (UiA). The course took place on February 17-18 and brought together a diverse group of PhD candidates from across Norway, along with academic staff from UiA, including Alexander Ruser, Devendra Bahadur Thapa, Amanda Machin, Vito Laterza and Sivert Skålvoll Urstad
Advanced Methods covered a range of methodological approaches relevant for researching digitalization processes, such as Social Network Analysis in Digital Environments, Visual Discourse Analysis, Online Surveys, Critical Realist Case Studies, and Digital Ethnography. Participants also worked in smaller groups, receiving tailored feedback and guidance from the teaching team based on their individual research projects.
We are pleased to see this course becoming a recurring part of the DIGIT course portfolio, offering both theoretical input and practical support for PhD students working with digital society.
