Seminar on digitalization and boundary work

How can we collaborate on digitalization across sectors and governance levels?

On February 27–28, we explored this question in the seminar Digitalization and Boundary Work, organized in collaboration with The Center for Digitalization, Culture and Society (CeDiC) — the host organization of our research school.

Day one focused on perspectives from various sectors and the challenges of digital collaboration in Norway. Key topics included:
⭐ What is digital boundary work?
⭐ The lost idealism – insights from the IPSOS Monitor survey in Norway
⭐ State collaboration: lessons from NAV’s development of a new sick leave form
⭐ Moving from successful pilots to scaling cross-sector collaboration
⭐ Experiences from two innovative Norwegian municipalities
⭐ Public procurement of welfare technology – a legal perspective

On day two, participants deepened their understanding through a scenario workshop involving representatives from the private and nonprofit sectors.

The seminar highlighted the complexity — and the potential — of bridging boundaries to create effective digital solutions across sectors.
